DraftKings Inc. (NasdaqGS:DKNG) has reached an agreement with the NFL to
expand their current daily fantasy sports (DFS) and content partnership to
Canada. The partnership had previously been limited to the US. Ezra Kucharz,
Chief Business Officer at DraftKings, commented:
“The relationship we share with the NFL is important
for DraftKings to provide customers a great experience. This expanded agreement
gives us a unique opportunity in the Canadian market, and we look forward to
working with the team at the NFL Canada as we continue to shape the modern fan
experience.”
ESE Entertainment
Inc. (TSXV:ESE) has entered, through its
esports team, K1CK, into a partnership with Portuguese Premier League’s Rio Ave
Football Club. This partnership will involve cross-promotion and collaborative
events, giving K1CK and Rio Ave FC exposure to new markets. According to the
press release “will work together to develop esports and gaming infrastructure
that is beneficial to both parties, including setting up the esports team for Rio
Ave FC, organizing and executing events at Rio Ave FC's stadium, and managing
certain esports and gaming related operations for Rio Ave FC.” Nuno Santos, Rio
Ave's Director of Marketing, commented:
"This partnership between Rio Ave FC and K1CK is
indeed a great opportunity for both of these ambitious organizations to work
together and achieve excellent results. K1CK brings us the experience in the
esports world that we have been struggling for years to reach, so it's with the
utmost pleasure that we will work together with an esports brand such as K1CK,

Wins Second Saudi International in Three Years
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers
defeated the Kansas City Chiefs 31-9 at Super Bowl LV yesterday, giving
superstar quarterback Tom Brady his seventh Super Bowl win, a league record.
Brady was also awarded the Super Bowl MVP award, which was the fifth of his
career, and also a league record. The AP quotes Brady on
Tampa Bay’s victory:
“The team had a lot of confidence. We came together at
the right time. I think we knew this was going to happen tonight, didn’t we? We
ended up playing our best game of the year.”
This was the
Buccaneers’ second Super Bowl win, and the first time that a team hosted and
won a Super Bowl, as the game was held at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa,
Florida.
ESPN reports that
Dustin Johnson won the Saudi International in King Abdullah Economic City
yesterday for the second time in three years “after shooting a 2-under 68 in
the final round to finish 2 strokes clear of Justin Rose and Tony Finau.”
Johnson told Sky Sports:
"I saw the leaderboard a little bit; the guys were
playing well, but I kept giving myself a lot of chances. I didn't hole many of
them but finally holed a really nice putt on 13.”
