The Associated Press reports that Chelsea Football Club has fired
manager Antonio Conte. Despite winning the English Premier League and FA Cup during his two years
with the team, Chelsea failed to secure a Championship League qualification
last season, finishing fifth in the league. A statement on the Chelsea website summed up the team’s achievements
under Conte and wished him luck in the future.
During Antonio’s time at the club, we won our sixth
league title and eighth FA Cup. In the title winning season, the club set a
then-record 30 wins in a 38-game Premier League season, as well as a
club-record 13 consecutive league victories.
We wish Antonio every success in his future career.
ESPN reports that Jeremy Lin of the Brooklyn Nets was
traded to the Atlanta Hawks last night. In exchange for Lin the Nets will
receive a 2020 second-round
pick and the rights to Isaia Cordinier. The Hawks will also receive a 2025
second-round pick and the right to swap second-round picks in 2023 as per the
trade, according to league sources.
Jeremy is not
only exciting to watch, he sets an example for perseverance and leadership. We
are great friends, and I will follow his progress no matter where he is.
