Churchill
Downs (NasdaqGS:CHDN) has launched sports
betting at two of its casino properties in Mississippi. Harlow’s Casino Resort & Spa in Greenville,
Mississippi, and Riverwalk Casino Hotel in Vicksburg, Mississippi offer
“diverse array of global sporting events,
including professional and collegiate sports in the U.S.”
Foot
Locker (NYSE:FL) has announced a new
campaign called “Discover Your Air” which will serve as a platform for NIKE’s (NYSE:NKE) Air
products. “Discover Your Air” will debut with the NIKE Air Origins pack on Aug. 23, and the NIKE Air Frequency pack
to follow on Sept. 15.

Tiger Woods announced via Twitter that his exhibition match with Phil Mickelson is “on”. Woods tweeted a
poster for the event, dubbed ‘The Match’, which confirmed that the showdown
will take place in Las Vegas on Thanksgiving weekend. Sky Sports reports that the match will be played for a $9 million prize and will
be held at Shadow Creek Golf Course.
18-year-old Japanese swimmer Rikako Ikee won her
fifth gold medal at the Asian Games today. It is her seventh medal overall at
the tournament. Japan currently leads in swimming medals with 46 (17 Gold, 18
Silver, 11 Bronze), just ahead of China, who has 42 (16 Gold, 14 Silver, 12
Bronze). The Associated Press quotes Ikee, who has one more race left in the competition:
“I feel a bit broken and my body aches,” Ikee said.
“I’m proud to be an Asian champion, but I want to achieve more.”
The Toronto Maple Leafs have hired four-time
Olympic gold medal winner Hayley Wickenheiser as the team’s assistant director
of team development, the Toronto Sun reports. Wickenheiser is a member of the Order of Canada and ended her
playing career in 2017 with the most goals, assists and points of any player in
Olympic women’s hockey. When serving as a guest coach for the Leafs at a
development camp in June, Wickenheiser commented on the experience:
“You always take
a piece of where you’ve played and I’ve had so many unique experiences through
the years. Whether it’s playing in Europe (on a men’s team), NHL camps … and
there is a lot we do on the national team that could be applied here in the NHL
level and vice-versa.
