Thomas Wins Tour de France, Johnson Secures Third Win of PGA Tour Season
with Canadian Open Victory, Busch Races to First at Pocono and Rossi Scores
Another IndyCar Win at Mid-Ohio
Team Sky’s Geraint Thomas became the first Welshman
in history to win the Tour de France yesterday. Thomas won with a one minute
and 51 second advantage over second place rider Tom Dumoulin of the
Netherlands, according to CNN.
"It's unbelievable, it's going to take a while
to sink in," Thomas told Eurosport. "Riding around wearing this (the
yellow jersey) is the stuff of dreams."
Top-ranked golfer Dustin Johnson won the RBC
Canadian Open for the first time yesterday. It marks his third win of the PGA Tour season
and 19th of his career with a score of 23-under par. The Toronto Sun quotes
Johnson on the victory:
“Winning here
definitely means a lot. Signing with RBC this year, and coming up here and
winning, especially on a golf course where I’ve had success, it means a lot.”
NASCAR racer
Kyle Busch has won his sixth race of the season with a victory at Pocono
Raceway in Long Pond, PA yesterday. This win means that Busch has tied Tony
Stewart for 13th on the career wins list with 49 to his name. The Associated Press quotes Busch
on the achievement:
“You keep
reaching higher up the ladder and you keep reaching more milestone drivers,”
Busch said. “Tony Stewart is one of the all-time best and one of the drivers
that I was a fan of growing up. It’s awesome to be able to tie him. There’s
many more. We want to keep going.”
Alexander
Rossi has won his second IndyCar victory this season at Mid-Ohio. He finished
the 90 laps of the race leaving a gap of 12.82 seconds between him and the
second place Robert Wickens, according to Autosport.
Huami to Acquire Core Assets of
