Cavs Lose in OT Despite LeBron’s Record-Breaking Night, Senators Assistant GM Arrested and Williams Makes Comeback at French Open

The Golden State Warriors won a shocking overtime victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers last night taking the first win of the series. Despite LeBron James scoring the first 50-point finals game since Michael Jordan in 1993, the team still lost 124-114 in OT. Many attribute the Cavs failure to win in regulation to J.R. Smith’s dribbling out the final seconds in the game. Cleveland coach Tyronn Lue said Smith thought the team was leading, which was why he dribbling out the clock. However ESPN quotes Smith:

"No, I knew we were tied. It's just, I thought we were going to take a timeout because I got the rebound. I'm pretty sure everybody didn't think I was going to shoot it over KD right there. ... I mean, I saw KD standing right next to me. He already had, what, four blocks? So I wasn't trying to be the fifth."

Despite walking out of a press conference after the game due to repeated questions about Smith, James affirmed his loyalty to him and the team.

"We got to move on. This game is over and done with. We had opportunities. I would never give up on JR. That's not my M.O. I don't give up on any of my players, any of my teammates, so I don't think that even needs to be said."

Ottawa Senators assistant general manager Randy Lee has been arrested for harassment according to a report in the Associated Press. The arrest occurred last night “following an altercation that occurred during a shuttle bus ride back to his Buffalo hotel.

Serena Williams is advancing to the third round of the French Open in what is being described as a “comeback” in the AP. Despite losing her first set with 17th-seeded Ashleigh Barty of Australia 3-6, Williams came back to win the following two 6-3 and 6-4.

“I lost the first set, and I thought, ‘I’ve got to try harder. I’ve got to just try harder,’ she told the crowd afterward. “And Serena came out.”
